How do I register my pet?

Snowy Vets treat dogs, cat, rabbits, small furries, exotics, birds, and reptiles.

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, Snowy Vets are currently accepting new patients.
How do I transfer my pet’s records from another vet practice?
Click on the link to register your pet with our practice. We will contact your existing vets and ask for them to transfer your pet’s record. Your existing vets will also call you to check that it is ok to transfer the information.
How do I collect repeat prescriptions or dog foods?
We require 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions, just to ensure that your pets medication is in stock. Please give us a quick call to check that your prescription/food is ready and come down to the practice during opening times to collect your prescription or food.
What happens in case of an emergency and outside your normal hours?
Our out of hours provider is Meopham Veterinary Hospital. Please contact them on: 01474 815333.
What happens if my pets need referral or specialist care?
What happens if my pets need referral or specialist care? We are able to refer your pet to specialist referral practices within the local area. We can also offer visiting specialists for Orthopaedics and Cardiology to be seen within Snowy Veterinary Centre.
What vaccinations does my pet need?
Dogs, cats and rabbits require an annual vaccination. Not all components of each vaccination is required each year, but your Vet will discuss with you at your vaccination appointment.

Is there parking?
There is limited parking outside Snowy Veterinary Centre. Free parking is also available on the road or in the overflow car park.
How do I book an appointment?

Do I need an appointment or can I walk in in case of an emergency?
It is always best to book an appointment, however in the case of an emergency we will try and see pets. Please call us, so that we know you are on your way.
Can I request to see a specific vet?
Currently, we only have one vet (Dr Chris Snow)
What is your policy on late arrivals, cancellations or missed appointments?
We will always try to accommodate late arrivals, but if there is a full consult list then we will try to see your pet at the earliest possible opportunity. We understand that sometimes you are unable to make the appointment, please contact us as soon as possible. So, we can allocate this to another animal.
Does my cat have to be in a basket when visiting?
- Yes, even though Snowy Vets offer a separate cat waiting room and consult room, for your cat’s safety we require them to be transported in a basket.
Payments & Insurance
What payment methods do you accept and when do I pay?
We accept cash and all major debit and credit cards except American Express. Payment is required after the consult or before discharge of your pet.
Can you offer pet insurance advise?
Here at Snowy Vets, we can offer advice, but we cannot recommend a specific company or policy.
How do I claim on my pet insurance?
To claim on your pet insurance at Snowy Veterinary Centre, regardless of provider, speak to our team during your visit. We guide you through the process for a seamless experience.
Step-by-Step Claim Process
Bring your policy details and any required claim form to your appointment. Our vets complete the veterinary report section, then you or we submit it directly to your insurer (many support e-claims for faster processing).
You typically pay upfront (only the excess and non-covered items), and your insurer reimburses you or settles directly with us where possible.
Provide full invoices, clinical history, and policy number, most claims process within days via the insurer’s veterinary team.
